Like its predecessors, season 02/03 very much resembles a spreadsheet package. It has no animated graphics per se and instead displays screen after screen of statistics and text. Because of this format, some players may find the experience nauseating; dedicated football fanatics, however, will appreciate Championship Managers detailed and accurate simulation of the beautiful game. Your goal in Championship Manager is to take the team of your choice from where they are to where they ought to be--transform relegation strugglers into championship contenders, league champions into Champions League winners. To achieve this, you must manage all areas of your clubs business: coach players, arrange transfers, design tactics, and much more besides.

Although Championship Manager started out as a game for home computers, this release is a game designed for the Xbox console. New features in this version include soundtrack and multi-player options. The game runs smoothly thanks to its use of the Xbox hard drive, and loading times are minimal. Controls have been well translated from home computers keyboard and mice to the Xbox joypad.
